The Olympic Dreams team met with the Mayor of Paris Anne Hidalgo

During an official reception dedicated to the Ukrainian athletes participating in the 2024 Olympic Games, the Olympic Dreams international sports camps project team met with the Mayor of Paris, Anne Hidalgo, and the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine to France, Vadym Omelchenko. The meeting was held at the invitation of the Ministry of Youth and Sports of Ukraine.

The event was attended by Olympic Dreams' philanthropist and inspirer Anatoliy Boyko, project Secretary General and Deputy Mayor of Bucha for Humanitarian Affairs Oleksandra Starkova, Olympic Dreams CEO Oleksandra Novikova, and Project Development Director and Honoured Coach of Ukraine Karen Balaian.

During the meeting, project initiator Anatoliy Boiko discussed with Anne Hidalgo and Ambassador of Ukraine Vadym Omelchenko the expansion of the project in France, in particular, the holding of camps for athletes from war-affected cities such as Bucha, Irpin, and Hostomel.

"Establishing new international relations is extremely important for the sustainable development of the Olympic Dreams project, as we have many plans to hold new camps in friendly countries. Communication with the Mayor of Paris, Anne Hidalgo, has great potential to support sports youth in the war-affected regions of Ukraine," said Anatoliy Boyko.

During the event, Oleksandra Starkova, Deputy Mayor of Bucha for Humanitarian Affairs and Secretary General of the Olympic Dreams project, gave Anne Hidalgo a commemorative "Bucha Coin" made from melted down Russian shell casings. The commemorative coins depict objects associated with the period of Russian occupation of Bucha. For the third year in a row, a large number of Bucha athletes have been improving their international sports experience as part of the Olympic Dreams project.

As part of the 2024 Summer Olympic Games in Paris, with the support of the Ministry of Youth and Sports and the NOC of Ukraine, the Olympic Dreams project presented the results of its activities over the years and screened the documentary Espoirs about Ukrainian athlete Anastasiia Chyzhevska. The event took place at the Ukrainian Olympic House VOLIA SPACE.
