“Safety Class” in Nyzhniy Bystry Gymnasium: a new step towards a safe future for children

The “Safety Class”, a unique learning space that will help children acquire the practical safety knowledge they need in today's world, was opened at Nyzhniy Bystry Gymnasium. This initiative is an important step towards protecting children, especially in times of war, when the skills they acquire can be crucial in difficult situations.
The project was implemented with the support of Oleksandra Novikova, co-founder of “The Future for Children” Charitable Foundation. It is extremely important that children who stay in a safe environment are able to gain important knowledge that will be useful in real life.

The Class curriculum covers various aspects of safety, from fire safety and road behaviour to recognising potentially dangerous objects that could potentially be explosives. In addition, children will learn how to handle electrical appliances without endangering their lives and how to leave a dangerous area in the event of an emergency.
A separate block in the “Safety Class” is first aid training. After all, the ability to quickly help a victim before the arrival of medics is not only a valuable skill, but also an opportunity to save lives.
For a deeper understanding of the material, the classroom is equipped with printed manuals from the UNICEF Foundation, which are designed specifically for children and take into account the peculiarities of their perception of information. Moreover, the students have access to interactive brochures with energy saving tips and recommendations for safe behaviour with electrical appliances from the Tolk Group's educational project.
Thanks to the “Safety Class”, schoolchildren have a real chance to be aware, to be able to correctly assess threats and not to get confused in difficult situations. This is a significant step towards the formation of a generation that will be able to adapt and confidently overcome the challenges of our time.
