The European Junior Judo Cup was held recently in Kaunas, Lithuania. More than 340 athletes from 18 European countries took part in the continental competition.
The participants of the Olympic Dreams project, who attended a training camp in Italy prior to the Cup, demonstrated outstanding results. Anna Oliinyk-Korniiko won the gold medal, while Oleksandr Martynchuk secured the silver. Margarita Miroshnychenko and Danylo Kravchenko earned bronze medals. Two other camp participants, Danylo Avramenko and Yelyzaveta Shevchenko, took 5th and 7th place, respectively.
“Winning a whole set of medals at the European Cup is not a coincidence, but the result of systematic, planned work and sincere belief in the potential of our young athletes. The training camp in Italy was an important stage of preparation, and we are delighted that our young athletes were able to represent Ukraine with dignity. These successes motivate us even more to support the Olympic reserve and create opportunities for the development of future champions,” said Anatoliy Boyko, initiator and patron of the Olympic Dreams project.
The results of these competitions have great significance: they directly affect the world rankings of athletes and selection for European and world championships.
