35th Olympic Dreams Camp: Training of the Ukrainian National Team in Germany

Athletes of the National Team of Ukraine in judo took part in the 35th training camp of the international Olympic Dreams project. Germany has become the 14th country to host Ukrainian athletes within the framework of the project of “The Future for Children” Charitable Foundation.

The training camp was held at the German National Training Center in Potsdam with the support of the German Judo Federation. Ukrainian judokas were given the opportunity to improve their level of sports training, refine their technical and tactical skills, and conduct intensive sparring sessions with high-level German athletes.

In keeping with the project’s long-standing tradition, the conclusion of the training camp was marked by an official event at the Ukrainian Embassy in Germany.

During the meeting, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine to the Federal Republic of Germany, Oleksii Makeiev, addressing the Ukrainian athletes, emphasized:

“You are ambassadors of our state. And every time you win, when the Ukrainian flag is raised in international arenas, the world sees a strong and resilient Ukraine.”

The initiator of the Olympic Dreams project, entrepreneur and philanthropist Anatoliy Boyko, noted:

“Today, Olympic Dreams is already a systemic international platform for supporting Ukrainian sport during the war. We sincerely thank our German partners, diplomats, and all friends of Ukraine who support Ukrainian athletes through concrete actions. Because as long as the Ukrainian anthem is heard in international arenas, Ukraine lives, fights, and wins.”

In addition to the training process, the organizers also arranged a cultural program for the Ukrainian delegation. In particular, the camp participants had the opportunity to visit historical sites in Berlin and to climb to the dome of the Reichstag — one of the most famous architectural and political symbols of modern Germany.
The Olympic Dreams project team has already begun preparations for the next international camp, which is planned to be held in Slovakia.
